 Adhatoda zeylanica ஆடுகள் தொடாத இலை என்பதால் இது ஆடாதோடா என பெயர் பெற்றுள்ளது.    இது ஒரு மருத்துவ மூலிகைச்செடி.எந்தவகையான மண்ணாக இருந்தாலும் இது செழித்து வளரும் தன்மை கொண்டது.



மனித உடலில் நுரையீரல் முக்கிய உறுப்பாகும்.  இது சுவாசக் காற்றை உள்வாங்கி  அதிலுள்ள பிராணவாயுவைப் பிரித்து எடுத்துக் கொண்டு கரியமில வாயுவை வெளியேற்றுகிறது.  நுரையீரல் நன்கு செயல் பட்டால்தான் இரத்தம் சுத்தமடையும்.  இதனால் நீண்ட ஆயுளும் கிடைக்கும்.  இத்தகைய சிறப்பு வாய்ந்த நுரையீரலைப் பலப்படுத்த ஆடாதோடை சிறந்த மருந்தாக உள்ளது.  இது நுரையீரல் காற்றுச் சிற்றறைகளில் உள்ள அசடுகளை (சளி) நீக்கி ஆரோக்கியமாக வைத்திருக்க உதவுகிறது.  இதனால் இதை மரணமாற்று மூலிகை என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர்.  Source of information from http://www.nakkheeran.in/users/frmArticles.aspx?A=7779
